World Handicap System Seminar - Pease

Pease Golf Course

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

5PM-7PM

Developed by the USGA and The R&A in close coordination with existing handicapping authorities, the World Handicap System will provide all golfers with a consistent measure of playing ability, with handicaps calculated in the same way wherever they are in the world.

The WHS will unify the six systems into a single system that will:

  • Enable golfers of different ability to play and compete on a fair and equitable basis, in any format, on any course, anywhere around the world;
  • Be easy to understand and implement, without sacrificing accuracy; and
  • Meet the varied needs and expectations of golfers, golf clubs and golf authorities all around the world and be adaptable to suit all golfing cultures.

This event will be a training seminar on the new World Handicap System. It will cover the ins and outs of the new system, how it affects courses and player's handicaps.

Participants will be encouraged to take the WHS Club Certification Assessment following the seminar.  This assessment is a requirement to continue to administer GHIN handicaps to golfers at your club.

We will review the new GHIN platform (Admin Portal) and walk through the most commonly used functions of the program.
